Revivify, LLC is the result of a self challenge. After a decade plus of working to prove my strengths and competencies to organisations, I realized what I wanted most was to prove to myself that I could create and run a successful business, and that it could be done without taking on more debt. This condition, of boot strapping the business was important because one of the motivators of the challenge was to create enough residual income to resolve my student loan debt within the first year of generating revenue. At the point in time when I wrote this blog, I hadn't launched the store and therefore hadn't earned receipts, but I had managed to fund the business out of pocket, and all without becoming delinquent on my rent, or student loan payments.
I don't know about you, but for me, being debt free was a great motivator; being debt free was a path to freedom. As I saw it, debt free and self employed was the magic elixir to ninja smoking myself out of the hustle of the corporate lifestyle and into a hammock, on the beach of a remote island, far far away. A girl can dream. Which I tend to do in my downtime, or when I'm stuck in traffic (same difference in LA). I daydream, I meditate, I pray about experiencing the distinct qualities of cultures around the world, learning about self care and becoming self aware along the way.
Self care is as important to me as being debt free, because the health of my body and mind are essential to me having the energy and strength to accomplish my goals. I know first hand the power of natural products such as essential oils, because I've suffered from asthma and tonsillitis, and have found relief from dietary changes and the use of essential oils.
When I was younger, in my early twenties, I suffered repeatedly from a soar throat and tonsillitis and on multiple occasions even had strep throat. Since, over the over-the-counter remedies were masking the symptoms but not curing me, I researched natural remedies for tonsillitis and learned oil of oregano was many things, and had anti-infective properties.
Oil of oregano was the solution, a pain reliever used to treat arthritis, rheumatism, sore throat, tonsillitis, muscle aches and pains. It was the antidote to my consistent throat pain.
Online research directed me to a nearby health food store, where I purchased my first vile. Three drops under the tongue, and what felt like the longest 30 seconds of my life opened my eyes to the power of essential oils.
So when I finally grabbed the courage to start a business, I knew pursuing efforts in self care was the direction for me.
